Demand for new commercial vehicles in Europe contracted by 11.1% in January, totaling 125,292 units overall and declining for the seventh month in a row.
This mainly depended on the sharp fall in van sales (-14.2%), while Heavy Trucks and Trucks posted growth (respectively +8.0% and +4.1%). Registrations slowed down in the Bus & Coach segment, with -6.6%).
Looking at the main national markets, Spain showed the worse result (-20.1%), followed by France (-17.0%) and Germany (-3.1%), while Italy remained stable marking the exact same number of registrations of one year ago (14,384).
