Passenger car registration: +10.6 in March, +8.6 in first quarter

Marking the nineteenth consecutive month of growth, in March 2015 demand for new passenger cars in the EU reached +10.6%, the highest monthly result since March 2014, with 1,604,107 units sold.

A remarkable expansion driven by all main national markets, first of all Spain (+40.5%), followed by Italy (+15.1%) with 161,303 units, about 21 thousand more than the same month last year. Definitely positive outcome also for France (+9.3%), Germany (+9.0%) and UK (+6.0%).

From January to March, new passenger car registrations reached 3.5 million units (3,527,704), increasing by 8.6% over the same period last year (more than 280 thousand cars sold). Considering the major markets, in the first quarter of 2015 Spain posted double digit growth (+32.2%) along with Italy (+13.5%), corresponding to 50 thousand units). France also showed a positive outcome (+6.9%), followed by UK (+6.8%) and Germany (+6.4%).
