EU passenger car registrations: +7.3% in February

With 924,440 units sold in February, and following the encouraging results recorded at the beginning of the new year, EU passenger car registrations grew for the eighteenth consecutive month, reaching +7.3% over the same month last year.

Considering the main national markets, Spain showed the best outcome reaching +26.1%. Double digit growth also in Italy, +13.2%, with 134,697 new cars registered (nearly 16 thousand more than February 2014), and UK (+12%). Also Germany and France keep growing (respectively +6.6% and +4.5%), positively contributing to the overall expansion recorded.

In the first two months of the year new passenger car registrations reached nearly 2 million units (1,923,484), +7.0% over the same period last year (126 thousand units). Spain drove the growth with an impressive +26.7%, followed by Italy (+12.3%), UK (+8.3%), France (+5.3%) and Germany (+4.6%).
