Eu commercial vehicle registrations: +14.7% in September, +12.2% over nine months

With 208,077 units sold, demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU increased by 14.7% in September, marking the ninth consecutive month of growth. The expansion was driven by Spain (+53.2%) and UK (+19.9%), both posting double digit figures, and supported by other main national markets: France (+9.7%), Italy (+4.9%, with 12,550 new registrations, nearly 600 more than in September 2014) and Germany (+0.6%).

Totaling 173,515 new registrations, in September 2015 light commercial vehicle market grew for the twenty-fifth consecutive month, reaching +14.0%. Bus and coach segment registered +29.8%, mainly pushed by UK and Spain. Encouraging results also for heavy trucks (+20.2%, mostly supported by Spain and Italy) and trucks (+17.0%).

From January to September 2015, 1,517,247 new commercial vehicles were sold in the EU, +12.2% over the same period last year (164 thousand units more). All main national markets performed well: Spain (+38.6%), UK (+19.2%), Italy (+10.0%, with 105,456 new registrations), Germany (+2.2%), France (+1.9%).
