EU commercial vehicle registrations: +12.2% in April, +13% over four months

Commercial vehicle registrations in EU reached in April +12.2%, marking the fourth consecutive month of growth with a total of 169,746 units sold. All segments confirmed the positive trend of the whole market in 2015.

With regard to the main national markets, UK posted double digit growth (+22.8%) as well as Spain (+18.5). Italy followed in third place with 11,853 new commercial vehicles registered (+9,0%), one thousand more than in April 2014. Germany also showed good results (+7.0%), while France posted the lowest figure (+1.4%).

Light commercial vehicle registrations kept growing for the twentieth consecutive month with 139,598 units sold (+11.8%). Encouraging result for heavy trucks (+20.8%), mainly driven by UK (+79.2%), Spain and France. The overall growth was confirmed also by trucks (+15.0%) and buses and coaches (+5.5%).

From January to April 2015 EU market expanded by 13.0%, with 671,701 new commercial vehicles registered (+77 thousand units compared to the same period last year). In the first four months of 2015 only France showed no progress, while all other main national markets posted growth: Spain (+35.2%); UK (+23.9%); Italy (+7.6% - 46,402 registrations); Germany (+7.1%).
