Commercial vehicles registrations: +8.3% in February

After the positive results recorded at the beginning of the new year, in February demand for new commercial vehicles in EU kept growing in all segments, reaching +8.3% and totaling 135,778 units sold.

Once again Spain is confirmed to be the country with the highest upturn (+29.5%), followed by UK (+19.4%). Italy stands in third position with 10,922 new commercial vehicles registered in February (+8.7%), while Germany remained stable (+1.0%). Amongst the largest national markets, only France recorded a decline (-4.3%), while new EU member states posted a double digit growth (+20.4%), contributing with 13,882 units sold to the overall positive outcome.

Convincing growth for buses an coaches over 3.5t (+12.2%), largely due to the result posted by new EU member states (+45.3%). Light commercial vehicles recorded the eighteenth consecutive month of growth, with 112,593 units sold, +9.5% over the same month last year. Heavy trucks segment showed a significant +8.1%, while trucks only reached +2.0%.

In the first two months of 2015, 278,376 commercial vehicles were sold and EU market grew by 8.0%. Except for France (-7.0%) all main national markets expanded: Spain +27.7%, UK +21.9%, Italy +5.2%, Germany +3.1%.
